Important limitations
- Conversion is best-effort rather than a pixel-perfect copy of Microsoft Word. Complex pagination, fonts, fields, tracked changes, headers and footers may differ.
- Only DOCX files that pass local OOXML/ZIP safety checks are processed. Malformed, encrypted, oversized or suspicious packages are rejected locally.
- Remote document resources and active content are blocked. Converted HTML is sanitized before preview and checked again before PDF export.
- The PDF is created from the browser preview, so advanced Word layout features and exact print settings are not guaranteed.
Frequently asked questions
Does FigureNest upload my DOCX?
No. Package inspection, document conversion, sanitization, preview rendering and PDF creation run locally in your browser. Normal website assets may load, but your filename, document bytes, extracted content and PDF output are not included in those requests.
Will the PDF look exactly like Microsoft Word?
Not always. This converter is designed for useful best-effort output for ordinary headings, lists, tables and images. Complex pagination, fonts, tracked changes, fields, headers and footers can differ.
Can I preview the conversion first?
Yes. FigureNest shows the sanitized browser preview before you create and download the PDF.
Are external images or links loaded from the DOCX?
No external document resources are fetched. The converter blocks network-capable document resources and sanitizes the generated preview before export.
