PRIVATE BROWSER TOOL

Extract Text from a PDF.

Extract the text layer from selected PDF pages locally in your browser and download a plain-text file without uploading the document.

Your PDF stays on this deviceThe PDF and extracted text stay in this browser tab. FigureNest does not upload the document, its name, its text layer, or the generated TXT output.

Choose a file

Selected files are handled in memory by FigureNest local-processing tools. This shared foundation contains no upload path.

PDF limit: 75 MB on desktop. Up to 100 pages. Text extraction only — no OCR. Scanned or image-only PDFs may return little or no text.

HOW IT WORKS

Local processing with explicit limits.

FigureNest asks PDF.js for the text layer already embedded in each selected page, then assembles a plain-text file with clear page separators. This is deliberately not OCR: image-only scans are not sent to a recognition service and may contain no extractable text.

LIMITATIONS

Know what the browser can and cannot do.

This tool extracts text already stored in the PDF. It does not run OCR, so scanned or image-only PDFs may return little or no text.

PDF text is stored as positioned fragments rather than paragraphs. Reading order, columns, tables, ligatures and complex scripts may not reproduce exactly as they appear visually.

Password-protected or encrypted PDFs are rejected locally rather than sent to a server.

Images, formatting, fonts, links, forms and page layout are not preserved in the plain-text download.
