How to print a large image on multiple pages

Choose the image, paper size and how many sheets wide the finished poster should be. FigureNest keeps the image's original aspect ratio and calculates the number of rows automatically. A wide image may need fewer rows, while a portrait image may need more.

Add a small overlap when you plan to tape or glue sheets together; the repeated edge makes alignment easier. If your printer cannot print to the edge, keep a 5–10 mm page margin. Print the downloaded PDF at 100% or Actual Size rather than Fit, Shrink or Scale to page if you want the assembled poster to match the size shown here.

How large will the assembled poster be?

The preview shows the approximate assembled image area before printing. The final physical result depends on the selected paper size, orientation, page margin, overlap and your printer's own hardware margins. Increasing pages across makes the poster larger while preserving the source image proportions.

Privacy and quality

All image tiling and PDF creation happen in your browser. FigureNest does not upload the selected image or generated PDF. Browser decoding and PDF creation can remove or ignore metadata such as EXIF, GPS and ICC colour profiles, so keep the original image when that information matters.

How do I print a large image on multiple pages?

Choose the image, select A4 or US Letter paper, and set how many sheets wide the poster should be. FigureNest divides the image into a printable PDF grid that you can print and assemble.

Can I split an image across A4 pages?

Yes. Choose A4, select portrait or landscape paper, then choose how many pages wide you want the finished poster to be. FigureNest calculates the required number of rows.

Can I use US Letter paper?

Yes. The tool supports both A4 and US Letter paper in portrait or landscape orientation.

Why would I add overlap?

A small overlap repeats part of the image on adjacent sheets, which makes alignment easier when taping or gluing printed pages together.

Does FigureNest upload my image?

No. The selected image is decoded, split and turned into a PDF in your browser. The image bytes, filename and generated poster PDF are not sent to a FigureNest conversion server.

How many pages can one poster use?

The current safety limit is 60 PDF pages. If a chosen width would exceed that limit, reduce the number of pages across or use landscape paper.

Should I print the poster at 100% or fit to page?

Use 100% or Actual Size when you want the assembled poster to match the size shown by the tool. Fit, Shrink or Scale-to-page settings can reduce each sheet and change the final poster dimensions.
